Alright here's something I need to mention.

This site is a very new one. As such there is a large influx of people wanting to become mods or webbies or staff. This is a good thing, most of the time. However, each and every person who asks cannot be granted their wish. I'm not posting this out of jealousy, but merely out of concern.

Currently, we have:

1 Webbie: good

4 Admins: pushing it

1 Mod: alright, I guess

So let's go over these a little more detailed.

Webbies are like the gods of forums. They usually created the site or contributed greatly to it. 1-2 on the average forum. 1 on a new one.

Admins are like demi-gods. They have power over everything, except for most important areas. They usually are former mods. 3-4 on the average well-established forum. None on a new one.

Mods are like priests. They have power over a few areas. They usually are credible, mature users. 10-5 on a well-established forum. 1-2 on a new one.

So yeah, I hate to burst people's bubbles, but a lot more thought should go into making these kinds of decisions. Same with staff, to, we should have an application for site jobs.

Anyway, tell me if I made any mistakes on this stuff.

No, your about right. In all honesty I was unaware there were that many admins untill now.
Unfortunetly our "God" is relatively young and new to the workings of a website. And although we trust him for the most part, the admins (which FDL has already capped at 4 anyways) are trying to play a slightly more important role for the development of the home site itself.

The idea of "The Sacred Grove" isn't to start a new Zelda Fan Site. It's to renew an older already existing one. The webby, the admins, and the one mod (lol) are all long-time members of the site "Zelda Capital." Sadly our favorite Zelda site's Owner not only A. No longer maintains or updates the site (It's stuck in christmas decore!) but also B. Refuses to give control of the site to anyone who WOULD willingly maintain it. On top of that, he recently gave control of the Forums to a member who (along with a difficult to get along with disposition) is rarely on himself!

So...

Are we starting out a little rough?
I think so...

Will we grow?
Yes!

Will we grow fast?
That's what the admins are trying to help!

Do you need a fancy title to help us?
OF COURSE NOT! You're already a member of ZU, THE ZELDA SITE on the web! And you're already proving to know a good bit about proper site control (I had to take a class and get my CIW just to learn that!) Any advice or ideas you have feel free to offer them! PM FDL! PM me if you have to!!! Honestly, we need more....intelligent ideas around here...

well, I actually feel pretty wierd being an admin actually because I'm way inexperienced with this sort of thing Dx but I'm going to try and figure this out. I'm sorry if I don't exactly make the best admin but if people could like, give me input and stuff that would be great.

Actually you were supposed to be a moderator. If someone asks to help. I will give them something to do.

Oh... hm. I was a little harsh. I new nothing about this renewing the site thing.

Anyway, FDL I wouldn't mind helping out, I just think we should slow down the promotions.

Back to main subject, for some intelligent ideas:

1. To keep people here, why not invite every new member personally? It would make them feel a little more "loved"

2. Start a thread in every forum. It'll spur some more interest among newbies.

3. Clarify the rules. Make sure what people can and can't do. Clearly outline what the grounds for a ban are.

Erm, yeah that's just about it.

Actually I have a theory about the Master Sword! I mean it's own time line! People often worry about the timeline of the series itself, but I've focused more on the time line of the characters and major items. The Master Sword being one of them! Where it's been, who's held it, what it does, and the like. I might post it in the Zelda discussion thread one of these days. And though it hasn't always been here, trust me! It's been in the Sacred Grove for QUITE a while.

Random:

WW has to before TP. Because WW Link powers up the master sword so then it is TP master sword.

....not...not even close! The Master Sword's power comes from the sages! (Or the sages channeling the power of the gods, as the case may be) There are sages in just about all the other games! WW Master Sword needed repowering cause it needed new sages! Unlike the other games where the sages were just hidden, sleeping, or captured. Ganon straight up killed them in WW! Whether you're going with the split time line theory or not, TP did NOT come after WW!

*sigh* looks like I'm gonna have to post the Master Sword's history after all....HECK! Looks like I need to post the timeline!
