To start.
I like how every Princesses name is Zelda.
I know the title is The Legend of Zelda but stile every once and a wile change the name.

Did you know that Zelda was named after Miyamoto's girlfriend?

A. Every child of the royal family is both a Girl and named Zelda because the very first King of Hyrule (who was before the family curse and was able to have both a Son and Daughter) refused to allow his son (the future king) the power of the Triforce. (Mind you this is before it was sealed away by the sages, but most likely after the Twili attempted to take it for their own. Well, when he found out his father deemed his sister worthy of the Triforce of Wisdom, he flipped out! An evil Wizard (or was it a witch...) took advantage of that anger in a plot to get the triforce for himself (or was it herself....).

He and or she convienced the Prince to plot against his sister, which long story short ended in the evil sorcerer's demise, Princess Zelda being cursed into a deep and near unbreakable sleep, and the Royal family being cursed into only having girls, so that the Prince could never have a legit son of his own. Kings would always have to be married into the family, meaing the Triforce couldn't be passed from son to son as they had wanted.

In regret of his actions, the Prince, now the king, decreed that all Daughters born unto the Royal family are to be name Zelda. In honor of his forever cursed sister. Reincarnation has nothing to do with this. The same goes for Link. Of course I already explained why Link is always Link in the "Link's Father?" Topic.



B. Shigeru Miyamoto did not name Zelda after an ex-girlfriend. The fact being, he lives in Kyoto, Japan. You aren't gonna find a "Zelda" in Kyoto, Japan. In reality, he admittedly used that name as homage to Zelda Fitzgerald, wife of the acclaimed author, F. Scott Fitzgerald whom Shiggy is an admitted fan of!

More interestingly still, comedian, actor, and voice actor, Robin Williams is an admitted fan of the Legend of Zelda and has name his daughter Zelda Williams in homage to the series!

Well that sums it up. Onto the next subject.

I don't think so.... Link getting married is just... wierd for me. So she didn't because I said. But wait, the sages have to stay in the Sacred Realm, don't they? So she couldn't have.....

The Zora Sapphire is like a engagement ring. And she gave it to him.

But that doesn't mean that they got married. She probably couldn't becuase she had to go to the Sacred Realm. But who knows. I don't really like the thought of Link getting married or having kids. It's just..... wierd for me....

Why in the first Zelda game is there no story line at all?

Hmm. Good Question. I think that because it was one of the first Zelda games. And one of the first video games that they didn't have the power in programming to add a beginning cut scene, dialog other than changing background.
