Veterans have served our country every sense they started the United States of America.
From then to now they have served our country with there lives.
We should honor the lives with a moment of silence and a post of families and friends you know that are or have served, where they served.

This is a day of remembering, the lives that have died and the lives that are serving are fighting for our freedom. We should not let that pass our feelings or minds. Let this day be a day that we remember our family and friends and people that we don't know that fought for us and died for us.

I have 2 cousins that have fought in the Iraq war. they're both home safely but are on the drawback list so they both have a chance to go back.
I also have a Great Grandpa fought in WWII. I never knew him.

Thank you, WM, you seem to be the most thoughtful of us all. I'm glad you thought to remind us of this holiday's true meaning. My mother usually take us to a very small museum that holds artifacts of all U.S. since WWI. But the man who always guides us through the museum does more than just show us the items, he tell us stories of the wars he served in, he tells us stories of tortured POW's, and he tells us stories of the some of his best friends who died in the wars. My mother takes us there to instill the feeling of sacrifice that our country's soldiers have made.

My Great-Uncle Served in the Vietnam War, but he was discharged after a leg injury. My brother has a close friend who went off to war. He's OK at the present, but we do worry about him.

Anyway, thanks again.

We do take advantage of the freedom we have. When the people off in somewhere don't have it and are suffering from poverty. I do hope that the death toll for Iraq and Afghanistan should stay were it is if not lesser. On Veterans day we remember all those who have died for our country and those currently serving. Lets think if one of those people hadn't been in the Military we probably would still be under rule by Europe.

I thank you all for the respect you show for this country and for the freedom that we have.

I'm glad you remembered Veteran's day.

Our school, unfortuneately, did not.

There wasn't even an extra moment of silence. It made me sick.

It makes me even MORE angry, because my cousin has risked his life out in Afghanistan for 2 years now. He'll return in 2011, if he isn't killed. To think that our school DISTRICT won't even recognise what they do is something that won't even let me spit in the board's direction.

This would have never happened if Bush didn't stick his nose into something that wasn't his business. Yes. I blame the war on him. He stuck his nose in, so the Islam Extremists terrorized us.

My school also did nothing special.

We got to bring in a dollar for out of uniform.


And the one thing we did else was that we said the pledge. Witch our school doesn't normally do.

The school should everyday. We should of had a prayer service at least. (I go to a Catholic School)

Yeah, my school didn't do anything for veteran's day either. I was pretty disappointed. If there's anything that annoys me, it's ignorance to suffering. People who act like nothing's wrong with the world are a disgrace.
